Sarah Stephens named Head of Cyber, International at Marsh JLT Specialty

Global re/insurance brokerage Marsh has announced the appointment of Sarah Stephens as Head of Cyber, International, within Marsh JLT Specialty, effective immediately.

Sarah StephensStephens will serve in this newly created role in addition to her current position as Cyber, Media & Technology Leader within the UK FINPRO Practice.

She will take responsibility for the strategic development and delivery of the company’s cyber insurance and placement capabilities across the firm’s International segment, which includes all territories outside North America. It’s expected that she will work closely with the broker’s regional cyber experts to establish integrated risk and advisory services.

Prior to joining broker JLT in 2015, Stephens worked at Aon for 12 years in numerous senior roles, including as Head of Cyber & Commercial Errors & Omissions for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

In her new role, she will remain in London and will report to Flavio Piccolomini, President of Marsh’s International unit and Paul Denny, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), UK FINPRO Practice, Marsh JLT Specialty.

Commenting on her appointment, Piccolomini said: “Cyber risk poses a constant and critical threat to the businesses and livelihoods of our clients. Sarah is a true innovator and has led the development of many pioneering initiatives in the cyber insurance market. She will play a pivotal role in delivering the next generation of insurance solutions clients need to help mitigate cyber risk and capitalise on the exciting opportunities new and emerging technologies present.”

Stephens added: “While more and more organisations regard cyber as a top risk issue, many still lack confidence in their ability to respond to a major cyber incident effectively or do not have appropriate cyber insurance in place.

“I look forward to working with our colleagues around the world to further develop our cyber risk and insurance capabilities to enable help our clients meet these challenges.”
