SCOR Global P&C reveals organisational changes and promotions

SCOR Global P&C has announced a number of changes and promotions as it looks to deepen its client relationships and become more agile to faster adapt to the evolutions of markets.

SCORIn a message to clients last week, SCOR Global P&C Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Jean-Paul Conoscente, announced a number of organisational changes within the unit to better accompany improving market conditions.

“We aim at being more agile to faster adapt to the evolutions of markets with different levels of socioeconomic maturity, varied reinsurance market dynamics and increasing local regulatory pressures,” said Conoscente.

In this context, the re/insurer has reinforced its regional structures in order to promote stronger regional views across its P&C operations and platforms and to tailor its global strategies to the local realities.

The result has seen the establishment of a new position of P&C Regional Head – EMEA and the Americas, respectively, alongside its existing APAC organisation, and also the re-organisation of the reinsurance teams into four different regions with more homogenous client needs.

Conoscente explained that: “On a global scale, the changes within the Reinsurance Treaty management team also include the creation of a Global Chief Client Officer to reinforce the internal infrastructure around client management. Other transversal organizations are being strengthened to back this reorganization and to support SCOR Global P&C’s focus areas for further development and improvement.”

The company decided to capitalise on its deep talent pool to foster internal promotions, which have been effective since October 1st, 2020.

Starting with the Regional Head appointments, in close collaboration with the Global function heads, and Stuart McMurdo has been promoted to Regional Head – EMEA (encompassing Europe and MEA), in addition to his current role as Regional CEO for EMEA for Specialty Insurance. At the same time, John Jenkins has been promoted to Regional Head – Americas (encompassing North and South America), in addition to his current role as CEO of Reinsurance for the Americas.

Changes to the reinsurance unit, under the leadership of Michel Blanc as CEO and Umberto Gavazzi as Deputy CEO, include: Europe – Anne-Marie Cical is promoted to Regional Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) with Charles Bartlett as Deputy Regional CUO; North America – Nick Nudo is promoted to Regional CUO; APAC Mature Market – David Johnstone is promoted to Regional CUO; Fast Growth markets – Eric Jenck is promoted to Regional CUO with Pierre Favennec as Deputy Regional CUO. This new region includes Middle East and Africa led by Hedi Hachicha, Latin America and the Caribbean led by James Grieve, and APAC Emerging markets led by Mukul Kishore; In addition to these regional appointments, Frank Coglianese has been promoted to Global Chief Client Officer.

Within the P&C Partners, Pricing & Modelling and other transversal organisations, the following promotions have been made: Benoit Liot is promoted to Chief Retrocession Officer; Doug Lacoss is promoted to Global Head of Pricing & Modelling Designate; while Guilhem Horvath succeeds Pierre Favennec as Head of Strategy, Business Development and Marketing.

“These changes will allow us to deepen our client relationships and continue to work even more closely with all our partners, while strengthening our organization worldwide,” said Conoscente.
