SCOR has named Nicolas Berg as US Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for property and casualty (P&C), where he will oversee all US-based P&C activities across both specialty insurance and reinsurance.
The announcement was made in a LinkedIn post that said Berg would begin in his role on 25 April.
Alongside oversight of all US-based P&C activities across the segments, he will have a key role to play in helping to expand the re/insurer’s specialty insurance footprint globally.
Berg wrote on LinkedIn: “I look forward to working closely with all the teams at SCOR at such an important time for our industry and to further increasing the positive impact we have for our clients, brokers and all our stakeholders.”
According to his own LinkedIn profile, Berg is moving to SCOR after nine years at AIG in various roles, his most recent being global head of claims performances.
He has also worked as North American chief claims officer and head of financial lines and liability underwriting divisions for the company.
Sandwiched between a stint at AIG between 2004 and 2010 and another between 2016 and 2022, the New York-based Berg was head of casualty and financial lines in Europe, as well as country manager for France, for Starr Insurance Companies.
