SCOR makes senior promotions across Global Life business

French reinsurance firm SCOR has announced a number of senior appointments in its Global Life reinsurance business unit, as it promotes a number of staff from within.

Paolo De Martin, Chief Executive Officer of SCOR Global Life, commented; “With today’s promotions we continue to optimally position SCOR Global Life for the execution of the “Vision in Action” strategic plan. The newly created role of Chief Actuary will ensure strong coordination across our actuarial and risk management teams as we grow and develop in new business areas.

“These promotions in the Americas confirm that our clients can count on a strong management team in this important region, where we have key market leadership positions.”

Brona Magee has been promoted to a newly created role of Chief Actuary at SCOR Global Life, which will see her in charge of risk management, pricing, reserving & valuation for the overall division, and oversees all Irish life operational entities. Magee was Deputy CEO – Americas at SCOR Global Life before and will report to Bruno Latourrette, Head of Actuarial & Risk. Magee is based in Dublin, Ireland.

Brock Robbins fills the now vacant position left by Magee, becoming Deputy CEO – Americas at SCOR Global Life. Robbins had been Head of US markets at SCOR Global Life previously. The new role will see him responsible for the technical aspects of the Americas business, including finance, pricing, risk, medical underwriting and legal, reporting directly to JC Brueckner, CEO for the Americas and based in Charlotte, NC.

Tammy Kapeller has been made Head of US Markets at SCOR Global Life, where she will take responsibility for US market development and growth, including Individual Life reinsurance, Group Life & Health and Velogica. Prior to this Kapeller was Chief Operating Officer – Americas. The new role sees her report to JC Brueckner, from a base in Kansas City, MO.

Sean Hartley becomes Chief Operating Officer – Americas at SCOR Global Life, so responsible for administration and claims processing across the Americas. He was previously Head of Human resources in the Americas. The new role will see him reporting to both JC Brueckner and to Corinne Trocellier, Chief Operating Officer at SCOR Global Life. Hartley is based in Charlotte, NC.

Finally, Nicole Baird has been promoted to Head of Human Resources – Americas at SCOR Global Life. Previously, Baird was an HR Business Partner in the Americas division. The new role sees her responsible for leading the HR function in the Americas, with a dual reporting line to JC Brueckner and to SCOR’s HR Director for the Americas Hub. Baird is based in Charlotte, NC.
