SCOR has announced the appointment of Redmond Murphy as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SCOR Global Life Reinsurance Ireland (SGLRI).
Murphy will now be responsible for leading the SGLRI entity and driving the strategic direction of the business, as well as managing all the activities of the local team, including finance, risk, regulatory, and new business.
As head of SGLRI, which is a significant risk carrier for SCOR’s Life Division, Murphy will report to Paolo De Martin, CEO of SCOR Global Life.
Murphy joined SCOR in 2014 as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of SGLRI, and most recently served as Chief Pricing Actuary for SGL , gaining experience supporting pricing activity across all of SCOR’s business.
He is a qualified actuary, and has more than two decades of experience in the re/insurance market, having also served as Chief Financial and Risk Officer at HSBC Ireland, Managing Director at AEGON Global Institutional Markets, and Assistant Vice President at Centre Reinsurance.
SCOR is one of the largest providers of Property and Casualty (P&C) and Life reinsurance in Europe, and accepts a range of direct and affiliate business across various global markets through subsidiaries like its Global Life branch.
