SCOR Reinsurance Asia-Pacific Pte Ltd (SRAP), a division of global re/insurer SCOR, has announced the appointment of Hitesh Shah as an Independent Non-Executive Director, effective August 20th, 2020.
Shah joins the company’s board alongside existing independent non-executive directors, Eric Raynaud and Andre Chieng, and will be tasked with Chairing the Audit and Risk Committee.
An actuary with a background in health, insurance, retirement and investment, Shah is currently a Council / Board member at the Singapore Actuarial Society, Managing Director at the consulting and advisory firm Shah Advisory, and a Director of the Singapore education charity, Akaraka.
Over the past 25 years, Shah has managed and grown AXA’s Asian businesses, consulted with clients across Asia while serving as a Partner at Deloitte, and also led the marketing, customer, product, and strategy functions as Chief Marketing Officer at three MNC insurers – Manulife, Aviva, and Prudential.
Currently, he works with insurance companies, fintech startups, corporate boards and professionals whose clients require specialist actuarial advice. His recent work includes the establishment of a high-net-worth business in Indonesia, positioning a distribution channel to help Singaporeans close their protection gaps, and building awareness and a market for a blockchain-based insurtech firm.
