Specialist insurer Hiscox has appointed Shali Vasudeva as its new Group Chief Operations and Technology Officer (COTO), succeeding Stephane Flaquet, who is departing the firm.
Vasudeva joins Hiscox after five years as Chief Operating Officer of AXA UK & Ireland. Based in London, she will also sit on the Group Executive Committee.
According to Hiscox, Vasudeva has a proven track record of leading large-scale transformation projects and driving technological innovation in the insurance industry, which will reportedly be instrumental in realising the firm’s growth plans.
Aki Hussain, Hiscox Group CEO, commented on the appointment, “Shali is no stranger to Hiscox, having led the change initiative for UK and Europe in the run-up to Brexit rules being implemented.
“Her wealth of experience and strategic vision will be invaluable as our operational and technological evolution continues.”
Hussain continued, “Stephane has been a strong contributor to Hiscox for many years and has held a number of important senior leadership roles across the Group. We wish him all the best with his next steps.”
Vasudeva herself added, “I am delighted to be back at Hiscox. With its strong history of excellence, bold ambition, and unwavering commitment to innovation, I am excited to be part of the team and to build on the strong foundations that Stephane has laid for us.”
