Sirius Group reshapes leadership team ahead of Easterly merger

Sirius International Group, a global multi-line re/insurance group, has announced a series of promotions and the formation of a new management committee in anticipation for its merger with Easterly Acquisition Corp.

Kernan V. Oberting has been appointed President of Sirius Group, and will manage the corporate, investment management, finance and public company financial reporting functions of Sirius Group. He will also continue to serve as Chief Financial Officer of Sirius Group and President of Sirius Capital Markets.

Monica Cramér Manhem steps into the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer of Sirius Group, and will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and operation of its re/insurance businesses. She will also continue to serve as President and Chief Executive Officer of Sirius International Insurance Corporation (publ.).

Gene Boxer will be responsible for guiding the development and driving the delivery of the company’s strategic initiatives as Chief Strategy Officer, a newly created role. He will also continue to serve as Executive Vice President, Group General Counsel of Sirius Group.

All of the above will will continue to report to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Allan L. Waters, and will serve with him on Sirius Group’s new Management Committee. The Committee is the senior decision-making body responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day business operations of Sirius Group.

“Gene, while newer to the team, hit the ground running and has shown extraordinary skills in managing our recent M&A transactions and public company preparations. Talent and culture run deep in Sirius; these three are the tip of the iceberg.”
