SiriusPoint Ltd., a global specialty insurer and reinsurer, announced a strategic collaboration with Stockholm-based Managing General Underwriter (MGU), Ryan Specialty Nordics AB.
This partnership marks a significant step towards enhancing insurance coverage for onshore windfarms, particularly in Sweden, and extends to a comprehensive package tailored for small to medium-sized enterprises, encompassing commercial property and legal liability.
Under the agreement, SiriusPoint will serve as the exclusive risk carrier, providing essential support and paper for the insurance products offered by Ryan Specialty Nordics.
A subsidiary of Ryan Specialty, Ryan Specialty Nordics specialises in underwriting business on behalf of various Lloyd’s of London syndicates and company markets, leveraging its strong presence and expertise in the Nordic and EEA region.
Rob Gibbs, President & CEO of SiriusPoint International, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting Ryan Specialty Nordics’ niche underwriting proficiency and local insights as invaluable assets.
He emphasised the alignment with SiriusPoint’s strategic goals, particularly amidst Sweden’s heightened focus on renewables and windfarm utilisation.
Jan Hallberg, Director at Ryan Specialty Nordics, echoed Gibbs’ sentiment, emphasising the benefits of partnering with SiriusPoint to expand their product offering in renewable energy across Sweden and the wider Nordic region.
