SiriusPoint hires Christopher Larson as Global Head of Casualty

SiriusPoint Ltd., the global specialty re/insurer, has announced a series of key leadership appointments within global underwriting, including Christopher Larson joining the firm as Global Head of Casualty, based in New York,

At the same time, the company has also hired David Godlis as Underwriting Strategy and Analytics Lead, based in New York, and Ramiz Mohamed as Global Head of Exposure Management, based in London.

sirius_point_logo_newThe company has confirmed that Larson will report to David Govrin, Group President and Chief Underwriting Officer, while both Godlis and Mohamed will report to Anthony Shapella, SiriusPoint’s Deputy Chief Underwriting Officer.

Larson who joined the company on March 4, 2024, will lead Casualty underwriting and product strategy globally with direct oversight of Casualty Reinsurance.

In the role, he will also work closely with the firm’s North America and International teams to execute the casualty product strategy for direct insurance and program business.

Larson joins SiriusPoint from BMS Group where he previously served as a Managing Director and Co-Head of Casualty.

Prior to BMS, he spent nearly 25 years at QBE Reinsurance Corporation where he served as a Senior Vice President and Global Head of Casualty Reinsurance.

Larson started his career in the re/insurance sector at American International Group (AIG) in New York, working as an E&O underwriter.

Moreover, Godlis joined the business on February 26, 2024, to lead the assessment of underwriting profitability and return on capital. He is also expected to drive performance management and capital allocation initiatives to shape SiriusPoint’s global underwriting strategy.

Godlis joined SiriusPoint from Jefferies where he was a member of the Power and Infrastructure investment banking team.

Prior to joining Jefferies, he held several roles in risk and portfolio management at AIG.

Meanwhile, SiriusPoint confirmed that Mohamed will join the company on April 15, 2024.

In his new role, he is expected to lead the design and execution of all portfolio and exposure risk management and reporting globally.

He brings to the role over a decade of experience in insurance and reinsurance portfolio management, pricing, and reserving.

Mohamed joins SiriusPoint from Hiscox where he held several roles including stints as Head of Casualty Exposure Management, Head of Underwriting Portfolio Management, and Head of Cyber Pricing.

Prior to Hiscox, he worked at XL Catlin for five years, serving in various actuarial roles.
