SiriusPoint, a global specialty insurer and reinsurer, has announced the appointment of Linda Lin as Chief Legal Officer, a New York-based role.
Lin will join SiriusPoint’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and take over her new role from July 24th, 2023.
She will report to Chief Executive Officer Scott Egan. Jimmy Yang, who stepped into the role of Interim General Counsel in February 2023, will work closely with Lin to ensure a seamless handover and transition, the firm noted.

Lin joins SiriusPoint from Coaction Global (formerly Prosight), Inc. where she led the legal, regulatory, compliance, product development and internal audit functions as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.
Before that, she served as SVP, General Counsel, Business Unit Legal and co-headed Regulatory at QBE North America (QBENA). Lin has also served in various legal, claims and product development roles at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance and Liberty International Underwriters.
Prior to entering the insurance industry, she was a litigator with the law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher.

The news of Lin’s hire follows SiriusPoint’s announcement on the former Hiscox CEO Bronek Masojada appointment as Chair of the Company’s Board of Directors.
An insurance market veteran with over three decades of leadership experience in the industry, Masojada joined the board on May 2 this year. Sharon Ludlow, who joined the board in February 2021, had been interim Chair since May 2022, and will continue to serve as a Non-Executive Director. Ludlow also remains Chair of SiriusPoint’s Audit Committee.
