Skyward Specialty launches Aviation Program

Property & casualty insurer Skyward Specialty has announced that it is launching an aviation program in partnership with Acceleration Aviation Underwriters.

According to the announcement, the partnership between the two firms introduces a program that extends coverage to commercial and general aviation aircraft, fixed based operators, flight schools, public and private airports, as well as a number of other aviation enterprises.

“Joining forces with Acceleration Aviation enables us to offer comprehensive, reliable solutions to an industry where adequately addressing capacity and coverage has been a challenge. Our entry into this market demonstrates our commitment to identifying and capitalizing on growth opportunities that align with our strategy to reach underserved markets,” commented Kirby Hill, president, Captives, Programs & Alternative Risk.

We look forward to growing a profitable book of aviation insurance business to contribute to Skyward Specialty’s already impressive success in the P&C market,” said Chris Jones, president of Acceleration Underwriters.

Meanwhile, Skyward Specialty recently entered the mortgage re/insurance market. At the same time, the company also announced that Jean-Philippe “JP” Latour will lead the new unit.

In their results for the second quarter of 2024, Skyward Specialty reported a rise of 17.6% in gross written premiums (GWP) and an improved underwriting result of $23.9 million for, compared to last year’s $15.5 million.
