Bermuda-based property and casualty insurer and reinsurer, Sompo International Holdings Ltd., has launched a new U.S. Insurance Environmental unit with expanded capabilities.
The new division offers new products and services that Sompo says will augment its existing capabilities available through its Sompo Global Risk Solutions arm, for the U.S. Insurance Environmental marketplace.
Alongside its current Environmental offerings, the new unit will offer Contractors Professional and Pollution Liability coverage for environmental professionals and consultants, specialty and trade contractors, general contractors, and also construction managers.
The new business will be led by Jessica Huhn-Kenzik, who recently joined Sompo International as SVP, bringing more than 15 years of underwriting management experience to the firm. Previously, she was part of the team that launched Catlin’s Environmental unit, and most recently she led Pioneer’s Environmental Liability operation.
In her new role, she is based in Conshohocken, PA, and reports to Christopher Sparro, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), U.S. Insurance.
Sparro commented: “Our newly formed U.S. Insurance Environmental team complements our existing capabilities for clients, particularly those in the construction industry. We are thrilled to have Jessica on board to lead this effort in addition to our team of experienced underwriters. Jessica has extensive experience as a technical underwriter and practicing attorney who has focused her career on serving clients in this class of business.”
