Sompo International, a leading global insurer, has expanded its presence in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region by appointing Pei Ru Chiew as the Head of Crisis Management for Commercial Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance.
In this role, Chiew will be based in Singapore and will report to Paul O’Neill, the President of Commercial Lines, Insurance, APAC.

We are seeing growing demand for political violence and terrorism insurance cover in this region. Pei Ru’s extensive experience in this sector well-positions her to work closely with our clients and broker partners delivering the solutions that meet their evolving needs,” said O’Neill.
Chiew brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having worked in various carrier and broker positions.
Most recently, she was a Senior Underwriter of War, Terrorism, and Political Violence at AXA XL’s Singapore team.
Prior to that, she held positions at JLT Specialty as a Credit, Political, and Security Risk broker and manager, and at Marsh Asia as a Terrorism and Political Violence broker.
