Sompo has appointed Hideo Nakano as Head of Japanese Interest Accounts (JIA), Asia Pacific (APAC), with effect from April 1, 2024.
In this newly created role, Nakano-san is tasked with leading the JIA teams across the APAC region to drive strategy, profitable growth and portfolio optimisation.
He will report directly to the recently appointed Kenneth Reilly, CEO, Insurance, Asia Pacific with a matrix reporting into the APAC Commercial Head of Distribution.
Nakano-san will also be part of the APAC regional executive team, based in Singapore.
Having joined Sompo almost three decades ago, Nakano-san has held several leadership roles in Japan, Indonesia, Belgium, and Vietnam. He most recently served in the Philippines as Chief Executive Officer of PGA Sompo.
