Specialty MGA, a managing general agent (MGA) and part of MNK Group, has strengthened its specialist underwriting capabilities with the appointment of Neil Tayler as Senior Underwriter.

In his new role, Tayler will establish and grow the MGA’s accident and health (A&H) portfolio, and has been given a broad, entrepreneurial mandate to build a dedicated segment book.

He has over three decades of insurance industry experience and will focus on both UK and global opportunities, with considerable scope for international expansion as the portfolio develops.

Additionally, Tayler brings deep technical expertise across consumer and corporate schemes, including personal accident, mortgage indemnity, and creditor/income protection. In the past, he has helped design and deliver programmes ranging from small consumer offerings to larger corporate solutions.

Tayler also brings global market expertise across the company, composite, and Lloyd’s markets, including nearly a decade at Canopius specialising in packaging and distributing established A&H products through innovative channels, along with experience in the MGA field.

Manoj Kumar, Chairman, MNK Group, commented, “We are delighted to welcome Neil to the Specialty MGA team. His deep technical knowledge of A&H, combined with decades of hands-on experience and strong broker relationships, makes him an exceptional addition to our team.

“Building specialist capability across the Group is central to our strategy, and the new A&H division represents an exciting evolution of our offering. With Neil’s expertise, we are well-positioned to continue delivering innovative and robust solutions across the globe.”

Tayler added, “I am delighted to join Specialty MGA at such a dynamic stage in its growth. The leadership has given me the scope to design and deliver a strategy that reflects my experience and understanding of this market, which is both motivating and commercially exciting.

“My aim is to provide brokers with enhanced access to accident and health products, underpinned by strong capacity, clear guidance, tailored service, and high‑quality underwriting support.”
