Specialty MGA UK, a recently formed managing general agent, has announced the appointment of Dermot Dick as Senior Underwriter for Energy.
Dick brings more than 40 years of experience in the sector with expertise in writing risks for the marine, power, energy and renewables sectors.
He brings with him a global network of brokers, agents and insurers, having written business in a range of countries and regions throughout his career.
In the new role, he will oversee the development of the Energy team, enhancing its underwriting capacity and expanding its presence worldwide.

Most recently, Dick worked at Oneglobal Broking. He has spent the majority of his career in London and the Middle East, where he managed reinsurance operations across a range of business lines.
In the Middle East, he launched start-ups at Q-Re and Emirates International, building successful companies from scratch and establishing them both as highly respected players in the market.
