Starr Companies (Starr) has named Nick Lawrence Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) for the Liabilities Group, based in the firm’s London office.
In is new role, Lawrence will be responsible for all of the company’s London market operations, which includes US Desk and also growth and expansion across the European market where the firm has established local offices.
Commenting on the appointment, Head of International Casualty, Starr, Colin Buchanan, said; “Nick has many years of experience in progressive leadership roles in the liability market. He has worked in the Lloyds environment and has been the class underwriter at a couple of syndicates during the last 17 years. He joins us at a time when we are expanding both geographically and product capabilities.
“His experience will benefit us in Europe and developing new channels and relationships. He will be an asset in growing our general liability, construction, energy and environmental impairment business.”
