Swiss Re’s P&C Reinsurance business unit has announced the creation of a new Global Facultative (Fac) market unit, which will be led by Sanaa Souidi.
The unit aims to enhance the client experience through faster, more agile decision-making and by leveraging talent and capabilities on a global scale.
Souidi has spent the past eight years at Swiss Re, joining as Vice President – Senior Risk Analyst, Group Risks & Analytics. Since then, she has held various senior roles, most recently serving as Managing Director – Head P&C Facultative EMEA.
Prior to Swiss Re, Souidi spent eight years at PartnerRe, most recently as Catastrophe Underwriter responsible for several markets within the Catastrophe Business Unit.
Additionally, Blake Kuppersmith has been promoted to Head Facultative Reinsurance North America.
Given the pivotal role facultative reinsurance plays in clients’ risk management strategies in the US, Kuppersmith will help ensure Swiss Re maintains a strong leadership presence in the market.
He has spent nearly 22 years at Swiss Re, holding a number of key leadership roles, including Senior Vice President – SwiftRe Leader, Head Fac Transactions & SwiftRe, and most recently, Head Facultative Property North America.
