Global reinsurer Swiss Re has announced the appointment of Ali Shahkarami as Global Head of P&C Solutions. He will be reporting to Russell Higginbotham, CEO of Reinsurance Solutions.
Shahkarami’s appointment was effective July 1st, 2023, and he will be based out of Munich.

Shahkarami’s remit will include leading a global team of insurance and data experts to deliver state-of-the-art property, specialty and casualty solutions for clients of Swiss Re’s newly launched Reinsurance Solutions division.
He joins Swiss Re from Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty where he served as Chief Data Officer.
Previously, he held various leadership positions at AGCS in Munich and California, ranging from catastrophe risk modelling and research to innovating technology solutions for underwriting use cases and relevant processes.
Earlier in his career, Shahkarami was a Lead CAT Risk Modeler at RMS, a software and technology company focused on catastrophe risks.
