Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, the commercial and primary insurance arm of reinsurance giant Swiss Re, is targeting a new line of business with the creation of a team to underwrite global Contingency and Sports Personal Accident risks.
To lead the new team, Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has appointed Jonathan Cole as Head Contingency and Sports Personal Accident, effective immediately. Cole will be tasked with growing these new lines of business across all four regions and will oversee a team of underwriters in London and his base in New York.
“Jonathan’s considerable product knowledge and experience across all contingency and disability lines, as well as his extensive global network make him the ideal leader to build our team,” Andreas Hillebrand, Head Credit & Special Lines said. “With his proven track record of adding new product offerings and opening up markets, I’m confident he will help us to strategically grow our business throughout the world.”
Cole has more than 16 years of experience underwriting and placing contingency, non-appearance, film and disability risks for wholesale and retail clients. Swiss Re Corporate Solutions first hired Cole in 2012 and he has held the position of Head of the North American Contingency team since May 2014.
