Reinsurance giant Swiss Re has named Bijan Daftari as Country Manager for Germany in its direct commercial and corporate insurance unit Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.
In the role of Country Manager in Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, Daftari will be expected to take responsibility for strategy, development and performance of the firm’s corporate insurance presence in the German commercial insurance market.
Daftari will be based in Munich and report directly to Tony Buckle, Swiss Re Corporate Solutions CEO, for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
“Germany is a significant market for us and Bijan is joining us at an exciting time,” commented Mr.Buckle. “We are growing our presence and starting to lead primary business. The key will be to continue our momentum in delivering relevant products and services to clients and brokers locally.”
Daftari has spent the majority of his 25-year career in the German insurance sector , in a variety of roles in the primary insurance market.
“Bijan has a wealth of industry expertise coupled with strong underwriting and management skills,” explained Buckle. “He is a well-established executive with a proven track record managing insurance portfolios. We’re confident that under Bijan’s leadership we will continue to build on our success in the German market.”
Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has offices serving the German market in Frankfurt and Munich. The reinsurance group is increasingly putting its capacity to work in primary corporate and commercial risks, as it places itself at the front of the risk to capital value-chain.
