Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has announced the appointment of Marc Ross as Head Property & Specialty Canada, effective September 1, 2023.
He will also join the Canadian Management Team for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.
Based in Toronto, Ross will report to James Gasco, (incoming) Head Canada, Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.
He will be responsible for the General Property, Energy Property and Engineering & Construction portfolios in Canada.
Gasco’s appointment was announced in June. Like Ross, he will start his new role on September 1, and will continue to serve as a member of the Canada Management Team for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.
“Under his leadership, I am confident that the Property & Specialty team in Canada will continue to deliver for our brokers and customers through a strong focus on innovation, solution-driven customer engagement, and local market expertise,” Gasco commented.
Ross brings more than 18 years of underwriting experience to his new role. In 2019, he joined Swiss Re Senior Property and Energy Underwriter before being appointed Team Lead Property, Central & Eastern Canada.
Prior to this, he held various positions with Munich Re (Temple Insurance) – where he worked for nine years – including Director of Property & Engineering Risks. He has also previously served at Aon and Aviva Canada.
