Swiss Re’s Frank O’Neill to step down as CEO for UK & Ireland

Swiss Re has announced that Frank O’Neill, current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for UK & Ireland, has decided to step down from his position, effective 4 September 2018, in order to pursue an opportunity outside of Swiss Re.

Swiss ReThe company said that a search to find a successor to O’Neill is already underway, but that Peter Elliott, current Head of Life & Health for UK & Ireland, has been appointed as replacement CEO ad-interim.

O’Neill joined Swiss Re in 1998 and has held a wide range of senior roles over his tenure at the company, including as Regional Head for South East Asia, as Client Executive for Key North American clients in the Globals team, and as Head of Africa and the Middle East.

He was appointed as CEO of Swiss Re UK in 2016 and has successfully led one of the Group’s largest and most important business units since then.
