Following the recent appointment of Kaspar Mueller as Swiss Re’s President of Reinsurance for Latin America, it is understood that Robert Wiest has since taken up his former role as Chief Operations Officer of Reinsurance.
Wiest was formerly head of Global Business Solutions in group operations and has served with Swiss Re for over 15 years.
In 2008, he took over as Head of Swiss Re China (P&C and L&H), before moving to Hong Kong, where he led Strategy & Operations for Asia.
The reinsurer says that Wiest relocated to Zurich in 2017 to head up GBS and was instrumental in evolving the division.
He will become a member of the Reinsurance Management Team and will continue to be based in Zürich.
