Christopher Toppi has joined Cincinnati Re, the reinsurance arm of The Cincinnati Insurance Companies, as Director of Property Reinsurance.
Toppi brings over nine years of industry experience to his new role. He is joining Cincinnati Re from Ryan Re Underwriting Managers, where he served for close to four years.
He joined the reinsurer in 2020 as a Property Treaty underwriter before being appointed Assistant Vice President in 2022.
Prior to that, Toppi served as a Property Treaty Underwriter at OdysseyRe, an underwriter specialising in property and casualty reinsurance, for almost two years.
He also spent over three years at Aspen Insurance Group, at their New York office. He was part of Aspen Re, where he joined in 2015 as an Underwriting Graduate, Property Reinsurance before being appointed Associate Underwriter.
Toppi’s hire is one Cincinnati Re’s latest appointments, as it follows Ryan Chefalas’ as Director of Specialty Reinsurance.
Chefalas joined Cincinnati Re back in April, after a near four-year term at OdysseyRe, having served most recently as Vice President, and prior to that, as Senior Underwriter within property, marine, and energy treaty reinsurance.
