Cayman Islands-based reinsurer Topsail Re has announced the appointment of Joe Ciriano, a seasoned IT professional, as its new IT Director.
Ciriano started his career as a Member of the Technical Staff at AT&T in 1984, holding positions of increasing responsibility in Software Development, Engineering and Client Support.
Most recently, Ciriano served at NC Joint Underwriting Association managing the Information Security Program and also served as an Infrastructure Engineer. His prior experience includes deep expertise in IT audit, security, internal controls, management, infrastructure, and operations.
Previously, Ciriano served as a Director, Commercial Client Relations, Engagement Manager and Regional Sales Director, Carolinas Region at WidePoint Corporation.
Ciriano commented, “I am excited for the opportunity to join Topsail Re and to learn the ins and outs of the reinsurance industry from some of the best.
“As they continue to expand, I look forward to providing IT support and guidance to the company to ensure Topsail’s IT is aligned with their business strategy.”
This appointment follows the recent leadership addition of Christopher Miller as the Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of Topsail Re, as well as President of Topsail Capital Partners.
