TransRe announces a number of promotions

Transatlantic Holdings, Inc. (TransRe), a wholly owned subsidiary of Alleghany Corporation, a Berkshire Hathaway company, has announced the promotion of several leaders to new roles.

TransReIn Underwriting, John Fugit has been promoted to Deputy CUO for North America and will report to Kyle Rhodes, President of North America.

In this new role, Fugit will work closely with TransRe’s Global Portfolio team and North America managers to enhance our offerings and manage our overall profitability goals.

Ben Hodge was promoted to Head of US Property, Treaty and Facultative and will also report to Kyle Rhodes.

Aisling Jumper assumes the position of Head of Global Underwriting Operations, having previously been the Claims Manager for FAIRCO. She will report to Lisa Moser, President, Global Portfolio Management.

Shawn Lynch was named Global Head of Financial Risks and will report to Paul McKeon, President, Regional Markets.

In his new role, he will work closely with TransRe’s regional underwriting teams on overall strategy and portfolio composition.

James Nunn was appointed International Head of Financial Risk and will work closely with regional teams to manage the financial risk and terror portfolios. He will report jointly to Shawn Lynch and Laurence Butt, CUO of TransRe London.

John Spencer has been promoted to Head of North America Surety to lead our surety and credit portfolios. He will also report to Lynch.

In Operations, Tony Celii was named Deputy General Counsel, and will report to Ken Yapp, General Counsel. Brett Denyer was promoted to Head of Sustainability and Resilience.

Denyer will be reporting to Cedric Lobo, who has been promoted to Chief Risk Officer. Lobo will report to Matt Mahoney, Chief Operating Officer.

Following the retirement of Ken Apfel, Suzanne Holohan has been promoted to Chief Actuary. In this role, Holohan will report to Ken Brandt, Chief Executive Officer.

TransRe has also recently announced the retirement of Paul Bonny as Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) after 41 years. He is to continue to offer advice and assistance to the reinsurer through his ongoing role as a non-Executive Director.
