TransRe appoints Swiss Re’s Abdeladim Bousselam as Head of MEA

TransRe, a reinsurance company wholly owned by Alleghany Corporation, has announced the appointment of Abdeladim Bousselam as Head of MEA, effective January 1, 2025.

TransReIn his new role, Bousselam will report directly to Julien Mollinier, President of Europe, Middle East, and Africa at TransRe.

Commenting on the appointment, Mollinier said, “I am pleased to welcome Abdel to our team. He brings strong working relationships, particularly in Saudi Arabia, as well as underwriting acumen and entrepreneurial spirit. This combination of personal and professional skills will help guide our strategic direction in the region and ensure our consistency of approach and decision making.”

He added, “Abdel‘s appointment demonstrates our commitment to local clients and brokers. It also demonstrates our ability to attract top talent to help realise our regional ambitions.”

Bousselam brings extensive reinsurance experience, with a successful track record in the MEA and French markets.

He joins TransRe from Swiss Re, where he spent the last 12 years, most recently serving as VP – Senior Regional Manager Saudi Arabia & Solutions Lead Middle East.

Earlier in his career, he held roles at Université Jean Moulin (Lyon III), Lee Hecht Harrison, Adecco, and Dell, among others.

This appointment follows the retirement of Chokri Chakroun.
