Transatlantic Reinsurance Company (TransRe), the wholly owned reinsurance subsidiary of Alleghany Corporation, has announced that Stephanie Russell has been appointed Chief Agent for its Canadian operations, effective April 13, 2020.
Russell joined TransRe Toronto from Aviva Canada in 2015 to lead the local actuarial department, and was promoted to Appointed Actuary in 2016
In her new position, she will continue develop TransRe’s relationships within Canada’s insurance industry.
Additionally, she intends to focus on the promotion of new solutions to help the market cope with the new challenges brought by the COVID-19 crisis.
As Chief Agent for the Canadian Branch, Russell succeeds Cam MacDonald, who has decided to retire following a 30-year career.
MacDonald joined TransRe’s Toronto office in 1990 from Canadian General Insurance Company.
