U.S. law firm expands re/insurance coverage with new office

U.S. national law firm Drinker Biddle today announced plans to expand its insurance and reinsurance team with the opening of its 12th office in Dallas Texas on February 1st, 2017.

The firm has hired 23 former Sedgwick LLP Dallas lawyers to man the new office – growing the company’s reach in the areas of business litigation, products liability, class action, and insurance teams.

Drinker Biddle has named W. Neil Rambin, Sondra S. Sylva, and George S. McCall as the trio set to head up the division’s insurance and reinsurance Litigation Group.

Rambin, who will be the regional partner in charge of the Dallas office, said; “We’re thrilled to open a Dallas office led by a proven team of experienced trial lawyers and litigators who are committed to growing the office.

Rambin has over 30 years of experience representing clients in complex commercial insurance litigation, insurance coverage disputes, extra-contractual claims and disputes between insurance and reinsurance companies.

Sylva has experience advising in re/insurance matters covering casualty, commercial litigation, bad faith, property, environmental, and marine, while McCall has more than 37 years experience representing clients in commercial insurance, re/insurance coverage disputes, and other complex re/insurance litigation matters.

Drinker Biddle’s new office is one of the biggest new entries into the Dallas legal market in recent years and will be led by nine partners named as E. Paul Cauley, Jr., Susan E. Egeland, Travis S. Gamble, Wayne B. Mason, George S. McCall, Dawn S. McCord, W. Neil Rambin, Sondra S. Sylva, and Alan R. Vickery.
