International re/insurance broker UIB has announced the appointment of Miles Taffs as Deputy Managing Director of its Aviation & Space team.
He joins on March 16 and will report directly Craig Fisher, UIB’s Managing Director of Aviation and a Board Director of UIBL.
Taffs has more than 30 years of experience in the aviation and space classes, having held roles across both broking and underwriting at Willis, WAIG, Allianz Global Corporate Specialty (AGCS).
Most recently he was Joint Active Underwriter and Board Director of Syndicate 2001 at AGCS.
His tenure at MS Amlin included being Head of Aviation until 2014 and then as an Executive Board member of Syndicate 2001 and Head of Marine and Aviation for the Lloyd’s placed business.
