Prague, Czech Republic domiciled reinsurer, VIG Re, the reinsurance arm of Vienna Insurance Group (VIG), opened a new office in Frankfurt, Germany at the end of September, 2017.
The new unit will be led by Fabian Christoph, who joined the company in 2016 with a view to taking on this role. The launch of the new office is in line with VIG Re’s expansion plans, as it looks to grow its German business and better support its German-speaking customers.
Commenting on the launch, VIG Re Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Johannes Martin Hartmann, said; “Our customers in the German-speaking countries, in particular mutual insurance societies, expect us to provide localised expertise and services, which we can now do from our office in Frankfurt.”
The Frankfurt office will underwrite non-life reinsurance business, and will also service VIG Re’s clients in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
