Volante Global Limited, a multi-class international managing general agent (MGA) platform, has appointed three senior underwriters to lead its soon-to-be-launched MGA, Volante Canada Limited.
Richard Newman, Robert Tsai and Steve Vandriel will head the new operation, which will provide property, casualty and automobile products in all provinces and territories in Canada.
The team, which will be based in Toronto, bring combined industry knowledge of over 63 years and have expertise spanning Canadian property, casualty and auto markets.
Newman has 20 years of casualty underwriting experience, including 16 years working across the Canadian insurance sector in various senior roles, Volante explained.
Tsai, meanwhile, has over 14 years of property market experience in Canada across both the insurance reinsurance arenas, and in almost all industry sectors.
Finally, Vandriel brings over 29 years of automobile insurance industry experience in the Canadian market and has held senior positions at a number of international insurance carriers.
The new business will operate on Volante’s cloud-based underwriting platform, VTX, which provides end-to-end support throughout the underwriting process and ensures cost-efficiency and transparency, the company said.
