Willis Towers Watson in string of senior appointments to expand broking platform

Willis Towers Watson has announced a string of senior appointments in its North America Corporate Risk and Broking (CRB) business, as part of its broking platform expansion plans.

Willis logoSandie Mullen has been appointed to head of Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical Casualty Broking after joining Willis Towers Watson from RT Specialty where she served as senior vice president of National Life Sciences practice leader.

Joseph LaRocco, a 30 year industry veteran, has been appointed head of Carrier Management, North America, and will be responsible for building relationships across the company’s key property/casualty trading partners and developing innovative coverage solutions.

Ramond Gahwyler will take up the role of North America Broking head of operations, and will be responsible for helping the company transform its broking platform and building out the firm’s broking centres of excellence.

All three appointments will report to Joe Peiser,head of Broking North America, who welcomed the appointees to their role;  “We are thrilled to announce these appointments. Sandie and Joe each have acclaimed reputations in the marketplace, while Ray has an outstanding track record of helping us achieve operational excellence. We are committed to optimising our broking platform to enhance the client experience.”

In addition to these North America appointments, Scott Kirkwood has been announced as new Corporate Risk and Broking (CRB) Leader for Queensland, with immediate effect.

In his new role, Kirkwood will be based in Brisbane and responsible to drive the company’s overall CRB growth strategy, value proposition, and talent acquisition and development in the Queensland market. He reports to Andrew Boal, in his capacity as Head of CRB for Australia.

Commenting on the appointment, Boal said; “Scott is a proven leader who has a great reputation within our organisation and strong credibility in the marketplace.

“His track record of managing key client relationships and driving business growth will be a great asset as he leads our CRB operations in Queensland, as will his strong people management skills. Under Scott’s leadership, our Brisbane-based team will continue to deliver innovative and cutting-edge risk management and transfer solutions to help our clients manage their business in today’s volatile environment.”
