Global re/insurance broker WTW has announced the appointment of Haibin Li as Director and Data Scientist within its Pricing, Product, Claims and Underwriting (PPCU) consulting team in North America.

In his new position Li will be responsible for supporting PPCU clients and prospects by creating and delivering integrated consulting and technology solutions. He will focus on leveraging predictive modelling, advanced analytics and artificial intelligence (AI).

The executive will collaborate closely with insurance companies on pricing, underwriting, claims, and portfolio management to design and implement analytical frameworks, strengthen data capabilities, and help embed more effective decision-making across their organisations.

Li will report to Ben Williams, senior director, at WTW, who commented: “Haibin brings a strong combination of insurance experience and technical depth in data science.

“His ability to translate complex analytics into practical applications will be valuable as we continue helping clients strengthen performance and navigate an evolving market.”

Li brings a wealth of experience from both academia and the insurance sector. His academic career spanned 15 years, with roles at Rutgers University, Princeton University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Following this, he spent 12 years in the insurance industry, focusing on data analytics roles at major carriers like Everest, The Hartford and Chubb.

Li’s addition to the PPCU consulting NA team comes at a time when WTW;s Insurance Consulting Technology (ICT) business is expanding its digital capabilities.

The division, which employs over 1,700 colleagues across 35 markets, is currently prioritising the integration of Generative and Agentic AI.

By leveraging these next-generation technologies, WTW aims to reduce process friction and deliver faster and smarter outcomes for global insurers.
