Zurich has named Frank Steidl as its new UK head of commercial insurance.
Steidl, who currently holds the role of UK head of energy, marine, and construction, will take up his new role on 1 January.
Previous roles within the firm, include that of head of EMEA energy and global head of upstream energy.
Zurich said that the current head of commercial insurance in the UK, Rob Kuchinski, will be retiring within the firm at the end of year.
Kuchinski joined the business in February 2017 as the global head of property, energy, and construction. In 2019, he was appointed into his current role whilst also retaining the global energy role.
Tim Bailey, UK CEO, said: “It’s with a heavy heart we say goodbye to Rob, as he returns to the US to be with his family and enjoy his retirement. Rob has played an instrumental role in making our commercial insurance business the success it is today.”
He added: “Zurich has an abundance of very talented individuals, one of whom is Frank and I am delighted he is joining our executive committee to help us take the business to the next level. Rob is leaving the commercial insurance business in an extremely safe pair of hands, and I look forward to working with Frank.”
