1347 Property Insurance Holdings has appointed insurance and reinsurance veteran and previous Executive Vice President at BMS Re, Dan Case, to Chief Operating Officer.
Case will be responsible for product strategies, underwriting, and sales and distribution, in addition to overseeing the day-to-day operations of the specialty insurer.
Case brings 17 years of experience in financial services throughout which he specialised exclusively in insurance and reinsurance.

In addition to acting as Executive Vice President at BMS Re, he was a founding partner at Advocate Reinsurance Partners from 2010 until it was bought by BMS Re in September 2016.
At Advocate Reinsurance Partners, Case head up the property reinsurance practice and advised both personal lines and commercial clients with catastrophe exposure.
He first began his career as a Banc of America Securities’ Financial Institutions Group analyst in 2000, before going on to join Aon Benfield Securities, where he specialised in re/insurance services until 2006.
Case was also a partner at TigerRisk Partners, an independent reinsurance intermediary, from 2009 – 2010.
