Acrisure Re, the re/insurance broker and fintech platform of Acrisure, has announced the appointment of Ming Li to the new role of Managing Director and Global Head of Catastrophe Modeling.
Effective January 18th, he will be based in New York and will report to Michael Cross, President of Acrisure Re North America.
In his new position, Li will lead the global catastrophe modeling effort at Acrisure Re to support re/insurance renewals and produce new business opportunities.
Working closely with analytics colleagues and business leaders, his role will include the delivery of data-driven insights, catastrophe risk management assistance, and the evaluation of client needs and reinsurance options.
Li brings 20 years of catastrophe modeling experience in the property and casualty re/insurance industry to Acrisure Re, having begun his career in 2002 at Willis Towers Watson, where he eventually rose to the position of Senior Vice President.
In 2013, he was appointed Global Head of Catastrophe Modeling at JLT Re, and, most recently, following Marsh & McLennan’s acquisition of JLT in 2019, he was a Managing Director at Guy Carpenter.
“Acrisure Re is committed to providing quality solutions that combine industry knowledge and expertise with world class analytics,” said Simon Hedley, CEO of Acrisure Re.
“The addition of Ming’s extensive experience of managing client catastrophe exposure by using data science techniques to reveal key trends and insight will enhance our analytical capabilities even further and I’m thrilled to welcome him to our team.”
