Hannover Re’s Executive Board has appointed Adham El-Muezzin to lead Hannover ReTakaful B.S.C. and Hannover Re Bahrain Branch, replacing Mahomed Akoob who is retiring after 17 years with the company.
The appointment of El-Muezzin is effective July 1st, 2019, which is the same date that Akoob is leaving the global reinsurance firm.
El-Muezzin joined the reinsurer in 2007 in Germany, working in both traditional and structured treaty reinsurance and also security management. Later, he moved to Bahrain and has served as a member of Hannover Re Bahrain’s senior management team since 2013.
Hannover Re Group Executive Board Member and Chairman of Hannover ReTakaful, Sven Althoff, commented: “Mahomed Akoob has been substantial in establishing Hannover ReTakaful and remarkably expanded our presence in the Middle East. We thank him and wish him all the best for his new phase of life.
