AEGIS London appoints LSM’s Paul Ventris as head of internal audit

AEGIS London has appointed Paul Ventris, previously of Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), as its new head of internal audit.

Aegis LondonVentris will now be responsible for planning and overseeing AEGIS London’s audit programme, managing the internal audit teams and reporting its activities to the Audit Committee.

He joins from LSM, where he served as Senior Audit Manager, and is an approved person under the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) Senior Insurance Managers Regime (SIMR).

In his new role, Ventris will report to Chris Forbes, Vice Chairman of AEGIS London’s Audit Committee, and also to David Croom-Johnson, Managing Director of AEGIS London.

Croom-Johnson commented: “Audit plays a vital role in the smooth running of the managing agency so we were keen to find someone with the experience, insight and technical excellence necessary, which we did in Paul. His arrival will strengthen our operation.”

Ventris’s 20-year career also spans roles as Senior Internal Auditor at Catlin, and as part of the internal audit department at UK Power Networks and Ernst & Young.

AEGIS London is the UK subsidiary of AEGIS (Associated Electric & Gas Insurance Services Limited), a Bermudian mutual re/insurance company owned by its energy industry policyholder members which operates with a surplus of more than US $1 billion.
