AFL appoints new retail team director

Independent Lloyd’s broker AFL Insurance Brokers Ltd has announced that Mike Almond is to be appointed as the new Director of the company’s Corporate Retail team.

Mike AlmondAlmond is an experienced Account Director and, before joining AFL, worked at PMI Health Group, where he established a commercial division. His career also spans positions at Zurich Insurance Group, Allianz Insurance and Marsh.

Commenting on the appointment, AFL Chairman Toby Esser said: “AFL has an established international presence among Corporates, and it is fantastic to welcome Mike on board as we position ourselves for further growth. He is a proven and driven leader, and culturally will fit in well at AFL.”

As Director of AFL’s Corporate Retail team, Almond will work closely with the Worldwide Broker Network (WBN) to serve multinational clients. The WBN is the largest non-owned network of independent brokers and currently manages over £50 billion of premiums.
