Independent Lloyd’s broker AFL Insurance Brokers (AFL) is expanding its wholesale property team with the appointment of re/insurance professionals Barry Rowland and Chris Cavani.
Rowland joins AFL as Director, Property & Casualty from a role with reinsurance broker JLT Re as a Facilities and Binder Partner.
Cavani joins from Alston Gayler where he was Head of Property and will take on the role of Director in AFL’s expanding Property Practice.

“They bring rich insurance experience spanning almost 50 years combined, and have excellent relationships with the London market as well as internationally, particularly in North America.

Rowland, who has spent more than 30 years working on the Retail and Wholesale side of the insurance business for companies on both sides of the Atlantic, said; “the diversity of my career to date meant I was able to very quickly see the broader potential in AFL and I relish the opportunity to join such a forward thinking company at this exciting juncture.”
Cavani has specialised in providing solutions to clients through binder, lineslips and stand alone placements, focused on the U.S. and Canadian Retail and Wholesale business over the course of his 16 year career.
