Oceanview Reinsurance Ltd., a wholly-owned reinsurance subsidiary of Oceanview Holdings Ltd., has appointed Ahwaz Chagani as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
A widened veteran across the industry, Chagani brings nearly 18 years of experience towards his new role.
Chagani joined Oceanview Re in 2021, where he was named VP and Chief Actuary.
Before he joined the firm, Chagani spent just under two years working at The Argus Group, where he held the role of Head of Group Actuarial & Risk, Approved Actuary.
Prior to that, he served as Head of Corporate Actuarial & Approved Actuary at multinational insurance and finance corporation, AIA. Whilst working in this role, Chagani structured and priced life, health, and disability reinsurance treaties with counterparties across 12 different Asia-Pacific countries.
Additionally, Chagani also previously spent just under seven years of service at Manulife, where he was based in Toronto, Canada. During his tenure at the firm he served in a variety of different roles, including Product Line Actuary & Manager, Associate Actuary, and Senior Actuarial Associate.
