AIG has appointed Ciara Brady to serve as Chief Underwriting Officer for International Casualty, a role that’s effective immediately and sees her succeed the now-retired Patrick Mailloux.
Brady joins AIG from Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty in Zurich, where she served as Global Head of Liability since 2019.
Prior to her time at Allianz she worked for Swiss Re in Zurich and Toronto for 15 years, serving in several leadership positions, including as Head of Casualty Underwriting Operations.
Brady is set to lead the overall strategic direction of AIG’s International Casualty Underwriting efforts, while ensuring its various objectives are met.
She’ll also be collaborating with claims, actuarial and other functions to help enhance the group’s overall underwriting strategy.
Based in Zurich, Brady reports to Lex Baugh, Global Chief Underwriting Officer, Casualty and Financial Lines, and Jon Hancock, CEO, International General Insurance.
In a joint comment regarding the news, Messrs. Baugh and Hancock said, “Ciara is an exceptional leader and brings tremendous casualty underwriting experience to the team. We look forward to her expertise as we deliver value and an enhanced customer experience around the world.”
