American International Group, Inc. (AIG) has announced the appointments of Steve Eccles and James Langdon to senior positions within its global specialty business.
Eccles will join AIG as Global Head of Aerospace, General Insurance, while Langdon will become UK Head of Energy & Construction, General Insurance.
Based in London, Eccles will be responsible for driving business strategy for global Aerospace and supporting underwriting standards across the product line.
He arrives at AIG from Argo, where he most recently served as Chief Underwriting Officer International and Active Underwriter for ArgoGlobal Syndicate 1200 at Lloyd’s.
Eccles has over 30 years’ industry experience, and was previously the Active Underwriter for Travelers Syndicate 5000.
He is set to take up his new role in April 2020, reporting to Peter Bilsby, Global Head of Specialty.
Langdon, meanwhile, will be responsible for developing AIG’s UK strategy in line with the global Energy strategy, as well as driving underwriting performance.
He joins AIG from Chubb, where he has spent more than 16 years, most recently as Global Head of Upstream Energ.
Langdon will take up his London-based role in December this year, reporting to Gordon Browne, Global Head of Energy & Construction.
