Specialist insurance and risk management broker, Alesco Risk Management Services, has named Jonathan Smith as Managing Partner of Energy, effective November 12th 2019.
He has 36 years of industry experience and joins the firm from broker RK Harrison, where he was most recently Executive Director – Head of Upstream, after joining the firm in 2007. Before RK Harrison, Smith worked for nine years with Agnew Higgins Pickering, and was also responsible for the upstream division here.
Smith also worked for global insurance and reinsurance broker Willis from 1992, after starting his career in the industry with Alexander Howden in 1982.
In light of Smith’s appointment, Simon Clarkson has been promoted to Deputy Chairman of Energy, in order to provide him with more time to focus on business production and managing key client relationships.
