U.S. insurance brokerage, Alliant Insurance Services, has appointed Greg Zimmer as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), taking over from Tom Corbett, who will transition to the firm’s Executive Chairman.
Corbett joined Alliant in 1977, and served as the firm’s CEO for more than 30 years.
Zimmer joined Alliant in 1998 as Chief Financial Officer and was named President in 2007. As President, he was responsible for implementing the overall strategic direction of the company while overseeing all mergers and acquisitions activity.
Under his guidance, Alliant completed 100+ acquisitions in strategic markets across the U.S. while seeing its employee population grow to nearly 11,000.
Zimmer commented, “Tom’s outstanding leadership of Alliant has placed our organization in a remarkable position, bolstered by an entrepreneurial, collaborative culture that allows us to maximize our impact and grow with purpose.
“We continue to attract the best talent in the industry and take tremendous pride in offering our clients an unparalleled level of service.”
Subsequently, Zimmer’s role of President will be filled by Ralph Hurst, who previously oversaw the company’s retail brokerage operations.
At the same time, Peter Arkley will assume Hurst’s position of President, National Brokerage, overseeing Retail Property & Casualty and Employee Benefits.
Additionally, Sean McConlogue has been appointed to lead Alliant Underwriting and Consumer Solutions as President, which combines the current underwriting and consumer operations under one umbrella.
Chief Financial Officer, Ilene Anders and Chief Operating Officer, Peter Carpenter will continue in their current roles.
All the new leadership roles will take effect on April 1st, 2024.
