Global specialty insurance provider AmWINS has announced the appointment of Matt Edwards as Lead Underwriter for Property Specialty in its London-based MGA Unicorn Underwriting.
He will lead a fourth division of Unicorn, Unicorn Property Specialty, and will focus on writing property insurance for small to medium size businesses and high value homeowners throughout the U.S.
This business will be complementary to the larger property accounts being underwritten by Neil Chapman’s Worldwide Property Division within Unicorn.
Edwards joins Unicorn Underwriting from Pardus Underwriting, where he worked as a Property Underwriter.
He has 25 years’ experience in the re/insurance industry, including broking and management roles at both Aon and THB Group.
Edwards will take up his new role on June 17, reporting to Frank Murphy, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Unicorn and THB Group, the specialist re/insurance broker and subsidiary of AmWINS.
“Unicorn has been attracting some of the leading underwriting talent in the market,” said Murphy.
