Speciality insurer AmWINS Group has announced the formation of AmWINS Specialty Logistics Underwriters (ASLU) and Sentinel Marine Underwriters (SMU) – two specialty Managing General Agencies (MGA) focused on the marine industry.
Executive Vice President Alex Rosas will lead ASLU from Sunrise, Florida, while Mark Bernas and Keith Blair, also both EVPs, with take charge of SMU from Houston, Texas and New York, respectively.

Rosas, Bernas and Blair are industry veterans, with over 50 years of combined cargo, transit and ocean marine underwriting experience.
ASLU is to provide a package insurance solution for freight forwarders and third-party logistics operators; product offerings will include marine, cargo and transport liability.
Logistics liability coverages include Shippers Interest Ocean Cargo, Shippers Interest Domestic Transit, Third-Party warehousing, Carriers Legal Liability, Freight Forwarders E&O, and Warehouse Legal Liability.
SMU will offer marine and cargo insurance solutions, including global risk control, for clients including importers, exporters, manufacturers, and wholesalers; product offerings will include worldwide cargo and transit, global stock throughput, project cargo, and excess storage on stock throughput programs.
Both MGAs will become part of the Underwriting division of AmWINS.
